My nostalgia project

I have started a new personal project: collecting CPUs.

This is mostly a nostalgia project. I like the old chips, the markings on them, and the memories attached to the machines they powered. A CPU can look like a small piece of hardware, but it can also take me straight back to a particular computer, game, or time in my life. I guess this is just another middle life crisis thing, but oh well at least is not super expensive!

The collection is still small, but it has already started to take shape. The display currently includes older Intel processors, a Cyrix 6x86, and an AMD K6-2/266. There are also a couple of other processors, and a few more are on the way.

I am not trying to finish it in one go. I want to collect the processors that mean something to me and, eventually, build a display that shows how personal computers changed over the years.
